Connecting Google Ads accounts
Connect Google logins, choose which Ads accounts to manage, work with manager (MCC) accounts and keep data in sync.
chiliad reaches Google Ads through a Google login that you authorize. One login can expose many Ads accounts; you decide which of them appear in your workspace.
Google connections
Connections live in Settings β Google Ads. Each connection is one Google login. How many you can add depends on your plan (they are called authorized emails on the pricing page).
- 1
Add Google Connection starts Google's sign-in and consent screen.
- 2
Choose Scripts + Google Ads to list accounts and sync performance. Scripts only just monitors script executions.
- 3
If Google access expires or is revoked, the connection turns amber. Click Reconnect β your accounts, scripts and assignments stay as they are.
Tip
When a connection expires, workspace owners and admins are notified in the app, by email and in Slack if it is configured.
Choose accounts
Click Connect Account on the Accounts page to see every Ads account your connected logins can reach. Tick the ones you want and add them. Only added accounts count towards your plan's account limit.
- 1
Manager accounts are labelled. Add a manager to run scripts at manager level.
- 2
Accounts already in the workspace are marked Connected.
- 3
Add Selected brings the ticked accounts into the workspace.
The Accounts page
Accounts lists everything connected, with recent performance and the number of scripts each account runs. Use the date range picker to change the period.
- 1
Connect Account opens the account picker again whenever you take on a new client.
- 2
Manager or Client. A manager's own page shows performance aggregated across its client accounts.
- 3
The row menu: open the account page, jump to Google Ads, set the OCID, re-sync performance or disconnect.
Manager (MCC) accounts
A manager account is the usual way for an agency to run scripts: paste one loader at manager level and it runs the script in the client accounts you assigned in chiliad.
- Connect the manager and the client accounts you want to target, so you can assign scripts and set values for each client.
- The manager's account page shows performance aggregated across its clients, converted to one currency.
- The Free plan allows a single non-manager account. Manager accounts need Solo or higher.
Syncing data and the OCID
- Sync β open an account and click Refresh to pull campaigns and the last 30 days of performance. Data is cached for an hour; Refresh forces an update.
- OCID β the identifier Google Ads uses in its own URLs (look for
ocid=in the address bar). chiliad uses it for the Open in Google Ads links that take you straight to an account's campaigns, scripts or settings. It is normally detected automatically through the Google Ads API. Where it cannot be detected, for example on some manager accounts, enter it yourself with Set OCID.
Troubleshooting
- No accounts are listed β the Google login has no Google Ads access, or it was connected as Scripts only. Use Upgrade to Google Ads on the connection.
- One account is missing β it is reachable through a different login or manager. Add that login as another connection.
- No campaign data β click Refresh on the account page. Only enabled campaigns are shown.
- Connection expired β click Reconnect and approve the consent screen again.
