Which Google Ads scripts should a beginner start with?

If you have never run a script, start with ones that only read your account and tell you something. They cannot break anything, and they show you quickly whether automation is worth your time.

1. A spend or budget monitor

Compares what an account has spent with what you planned and warns you when pacing is off. For anyone managing client budgets this is usually the first script that pays for itself.

2. A "something is broken" check

Scripts that look for disapproved ads, landing pages returning errors, campaigns that stopped serving, or conversion tracking that went quiet. Problems like these cost money every hour they go unnoticed.

3. An anomaly alert

Compares today's or yesterday's clicks, cost or conversions with the usual level for that day of the week and flags large deviations.

4. A report you already build by hand
