Why a Google connection expires and how to reconnect
The common reasons Google revokes access to Google Ads, what stops working, and how to restore the connection.
chiliad reaches Google Ads with access you grant through a Google login. Google can end that access without warning, and when it does the connection shows as expired.
Common reasons
- The password of the Google login was changed.
- Access was removed in the Google account's security settings, or by a workspace administrator.
- The login lost access to Google Ads, for example when someone left the company or a client removed the user.
- The access was not used for a long time.
What stops and what keeps working
- Stops: syncing account and campaign data, listing accounts, GAQL Lab queries, and syncing Google's execution records for accounts reached through that login.
- Keeps working: your scripts. Loaders already pasted into Google Ads keep fetching code and settings and reporting their runs, because they do not depend on this connection.
How to reconnect
- Open Settings → Google Ads.
- Click Reconnect on the expired connection.
- Sign in with the same Google login and approve the consent screen.
Accounts, scripts, assignments and per-account values stay exactly as they were.
Avoiding surprises
Workspace owners and admins are notified in the app, by email and in Slack when a connection expires. If the person whose login is connected is likely to leave, add a second connection from a shared or long-lived login first.
