How to send Google Ads script alerts to Slack
Create a Slack incoming webhook and connect it to chiliad so script failures and digests reach your team channel.
Email alerts reach one person. A Slack channel reaches whoever is on duty, and keeps a visible record of what broke and when.
1. Create an incoming webhook in Slack
- Go to api.slack.com/apps and create an app in your workspace, or open one you already use for integrations.
- Open Incoming Webhooks and switch the feature on.
- Click Add New Webhook to Workspace and choose the channel, for example
#ppc-alerts. - Copy the webhook URL. It starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/.
You need permission to install apps in the Slack workspace; if you do not have it, ask a Slack admin to do these steps and send you the URL.
2. Add it to chiliad
- Open Settings → Notifications.
- Under Slack Integration, paste the URL into Webhook URL.
- Click Save Webhook.
The webhook is a workspace setting: one channel for the whole team, shared by all members.
What gets posted
- Script alerts — repeated failures, scripts that stopped running and sharp drops in runtime. Each message names the script, shows its priority, the number of consecutive failures and the latest error, and has a button that opens the script.
- Digests — a summary of script activity at the frequency your plan and settings allow.
- Connection problems — when a Google connection expires.
Good practice
- Use a dedicated channel so alerts are not buried in conversation.
- Mark business-critical scripts as High priority so they stand out.
- Treat the webhook URL like a password: anyone who has it can post to the channel.
To stop the messages, clear the field and save.
- 1
