Can you use Google Ads scripts without knowing how to code?
You do not need to write JavaScript to benefit from Google Ads scripts. Here is what you do need.
Yes. Most people who run Google Ads scripts did not write them. What you need is a script that already does the job, a way to set its options, and a way to know it is still working.
Use a ready-made script
The marketplace has 130+ scripts for common PPC jobs. Each one documents what it does, which settings it has and what output to expect. Installing a script copies it into your workspace.
Change settings, not code
Well-written scripts keep their options at the top as named variables — a budget, a threshold, an email address. In chiliad these appear as a form and as a table with one row per account, so you fill in values instead of editing JavaScript. See Scripts and deployment.
Describe what you want to Claude
If no existing script fits, describe the rule in plain language to Claude. With the Claude connector it writes the script, saves it to your workspace and sets it up for the accounts you name. You review the result and paste one loader into Google Ads.
What you still have to do yourself
- Paste the loader into Google Ads and authorize it. Google requires a person to grant a script access to the account.
- Run a preview first. Preview shows what the script would change without changing it.
- Read the first few run results. Check that the numbers match what you see in the account before you trust the script on a schedule.
None of this requires reading code, but it does require understanding what the script is supposed to do.
